क्या ? ईमानदारी ! भाई वो क्या चीज होती है ?

बुजुर्गो से सुना था, बचपन में किताबो में पड़ा था,
ईमानदार बन के देश सेवा का, बहुत जोश चड़ा था,
पर क्या यार ! कभी किताबी बातें भी सच होती है?
क्या ? ईमानदारी ! भाई वो क्या चीज होती है ?

यहाँ वहाँ के तिकड़म लगा के, माँ-बाप ख़ूब टैक्स बचाते हैं,
और फिर अपने बच्चो को भी, ये अद्भुत कला सिखाते हैं,
ऐसी शिक्षाएं ही तो घर और देश की लुटिया डुबोती हैं.
क्या ? ईमानदारी ! भाई वो क्या चीज होती है ?

बेइमानी से प्रभावित बुद्धिजीवियों का, ये तर्क जुबानी है,
ईमानदार बनके इस जग में क्या अपनी हँसी उड्वानी हैं,
बेईमानी की अठ्ठाहस के सामने, सिर झुका के रोती है.
कौन ? ईमानदारी ! भाई वो क्या चीज होती है ?

सत्याग्रह और अनशन करने से कब किसका भला हुआ है,
भ्रष्टाचार तो वो साप है जो हर आस्तीन में पला हुआ है,
इन सब शोर-शराबो पे तो, सरकार चद्दर तान के सोती है
क्या ? ईमानदारी ! भाई वो क्या चीज होती है ?

बेईमानी का विष प्रभाव, ऐसे ही बढता जायेगा,
पाप-घड़ा इन चोरो का कभी न भरने पायेगा,
लगता है अवतार लेने की अब, भगवान् की भी न हिम्मत होती है,
क्या ? ईमानदारी ! भाई वो क्या चीज होती है ?

अपने भारतवर्ष को मै भी, भ्रष्टाचार-मुक्त देखना चाहता था

रहा परिश्रमी अब तक मै, कर्मठता के गुण गाता था,
भ्रष्टाचार से भरे जगत में, इमानदार बन इतराता था !
अन्य देशो का सिस्टम देख, मन ही मन हर्षाता था,
अपने भारतवर्ष को मै भी, भ्रष्टाचार-मुक्त देखना चाहता था !!

सत्य वचन और परिश्रम, यही मेरे आदर्श रहे,
गीताम्रतम के अनमोल वचन, सदैव हृदयस्पर्श रहे !
कर्म करो फल छोड़ो प्रभु पर, यही वचन दोहराता था,
अपने भारतवर्ष को मै भी, भ्रष्टाचार-मुक्त देखना चाहता था !!

भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी आन्दोलन में, सदा मेरा सहयोग रहा,
'भ्रष्टाचार मिटाओ और देश बचाओ', जोर जोर ये खूब कहा !
रैलियों में जा जा के, 'अन्ना अन्ना' चिल्लाता था,
अपने भारतवर्ष को मै भी, भ्रष्टाचार-मुक्त देखना चाहता था !!

पर 'भ्रष्टाचार-मुक्ति' तो एक स्वप्न है, जो नित दिन देखा जाता हैं,
भ्रष्टाचार तो वो तेल है, जो सिस्टम की मशीन चलाता है !
अब वास्तविकता का बोध हो गया, कि मै व्यर्थ उम्मीद लगाता था,
अपने भारतवर्ष को मै भी, भ्रष्टाचार-मुक्त देखना चाहता था !!

समय के साथ चलना सीख के, अब मै भी भ्रष्ट बन जाऊँगा,
सब हथकंडे अपना के मैं, धन-दौलत खूब कमाऊंगा !
सहर्ष ही अपनाऊंगा वो सब, जिनको मै ठुकराता था,
अपने भारतवर्ष को मै भी, भ्रष्टाचार मुक्त देखना चाहता था !!

जरा रुको, और विचार करो, कही माहौल न ऐसा बन जाये,
देश का हर ईमानदार, कहीं मुझ जैसा न बन जाये !
वरन नहीं मिलेगा भविष्य में कोई, जो सच का मार्ग दिखायेगा,
और भ्रष्टाचारी देशो में, भारत अव्वल बन जायेगा !!

जन-लोकपाल बिल आया है !!

अन्ना ने फिर से एक बार, क्रांति का बिगुल बजाया है ,
भ्रष्टाचारियो सावधान, जन-लोकपाल बिल आया है !

अब तक हमने बहुत सहा , अब और नहीं हमें सहना है ,
भ्रष्टाचार को ख़त्म करो , अब जन-जन का ये कहना है !
सत्ता का अडिग सिंघासन फिर , जनता ने आज हिलाया है ,
भ्रष्टाचारियो सावधान , जन-लोकपाल बिल आया है !!

तुमने हमको लूटा खूब , जन-जन से जो घूस लिया ,
भ्रष्ट-मति की अगणित जोको , तुमने देश को चूस लिया !
अब नहीं पचने पायेगा तुमको , कला धन जो खाया है ,
भ्रष्टाचारियो सावधान , जन-लोकपाल बिल आया है !!

आज अन्ना नहीं अकेला है , जन शक्ति उसके साथ खड़ी ,
जन सैलाब को देख-देख , मन इच्छा शक्ति और बड़ी !
अब नहीं चलेगा ताल तुम्हारा , जिस पर जनता को खूब नचाया है ,
भ्रष्टाचारियो सावधान , जन-लोकपाल बिल आया है !!

अब बड़ चला है जन-आन्दोलन, तो नहीं ये रुकने पायेगा ,
हर एक हाथ , हर एक आवाज से , आगे ही बढता जायेगा !
अन्ना ने सबको दोषमुक्त , समृद्ध भारत का स्वप्न दिखाया है,
भ्रष्टाचारियो सावधान , जन-लोकपाल बिल आया है !!

Proud to be an Indian ???

और तुम कहते हो गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !

बच्चो के भूखे बिलखने पर जब आत्मा कुलबुलाती है,
तब घर में अन्न न होने पर, माँ पानी पिला सुलाती है !
और तुम छोड़ देते हो भरी तश्तरी, जरा नमक कम होने पर,
और तुम कहते हो गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !!

परदेस में जाके हर भारतीय, अति शालीन बन जाता है,
सब नियमो और कानूनों को, सहर्ष ही अपनाता है.!
पर यहाँ नहीं सकुचाता है, दीवार को पीक से धोने पर,
और तुम कहते हो गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !!

इश्वर ने सबको एक रचा, सबको सामान ही अंग दिए,
पर हमने भ्रात-प्रेम के श्वेत वस्त्र को जातीवाद के रंग दिए !
अब जातिवाद का दानव हस्ता है, मानवता के इस बौने पर.
और तुम कहते हो गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !!

किसान हमारा अन्नदाता, वो ही ऋण दलदल में डूब रहा,
वो अन्न भी दे और जान भी दे, वाह ये हिसाब तो खूब रहा !
श्रवन करो, जरा ध्यान तो दो, उसके परिवार के रोने पर,
और तुम कहते हो गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !!

राजनीति के रन-छेत्र में, राजनेता ही राज को लूट रहे,
घोटालो के अनगित पाप घड़े, नित दिन ही तो फूट रहे !
आखिर कब तक सोयेगा ये भारत, भ्रष्टाचार के बिछोने पर
और तुम कहते हो गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !!

अन्ना की एक आवाज ने, नौकरशाही को हिला दिया,
बरसो से सोयी अवाम को, क्रांति का अमृत पिला दिया !
तुम फिर भी न निकले कमरों से, और छुपे रहे एक कोने पर,
और तुम कहते हो गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !!

लोभी नेता दशको से, देश को दीमक को तरह खाते रहे,
और तुम देश की विषम परिस्थिति पर, नजरे यू हीं चुराते रहे !
अब उठो, थोड़ी तो शर्म करो, मुह ढक के यूँ सोने पर,
फिर सब मिल कहना गर्व है, हमें भारतीय होने पर !!

Janlokpal Bill:

What is Jan Loakpal Bill?

In India, the Jan Lokpal Bill (Citizen's ombudsman Bill) is a draft anti-corruption bill that would create a “Jan Lokpal”, an independent body like the Election Commission, which would have the power to prosecute politicians and bureaucrats without government permission.

The bill was drafted by :

• Shanti Bhushan [former Union Law Minister and senior advocate of India ]

• Kiran Bedi [former IPS ]

• N. Santosh Hegde, [a former justice of the Supreme Court Of India and former Solicitor General of India ]

• Prashant Bhushan, [advocate]

• J. M. Lyngdoh [former chief election commissioner]

• in consultation with the leaders of the India Against Corruption movement and the civil society

The Lokpal Bill drafted by the government has failed to pass the Rajya Sabha for 42 years.The first Lokpal Bill was passed in the 4th Lok Sabha in 1969 but could not get through in Rajya Sabha. Subsequently, Lokpal bills were introduced in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 and in 2008. Yet none of these bills were ever passed.

Key features of proposed bill

1. A central government anti-corruption institution called "Lokpal", supported by state institutions called "Lokayukta" will be set up

2. Like the Supreme Court and the Election Commission, they will be completely independent of the governments. No minister or bureaucrat will be able to influence their investigations.

3. Members will be appointed by judges, private citizens, and constitutional authorities through a transparent and participatory process.

4. Investigations in each case will have to be completed in one year. Trials should be completed in the following year, meaning the total process will take place within two years.

5. Any loss that a corrupt person caused to the government will be recovered at the time of conviction.

6. Help to common citizen: If any work of any citizen is not done in prescribed time in any government office, Lokpal will impose financial penalty on guilty officers, which will be given as compensation to the complainant.

7. Any complaint against any officer of Lokpal shall be investigated and, if found to be substantive, will result in the the officer being dismissed within two months.

8. The existing anti-corruption agencies(CVC, departmental vigilance and the anti-corruption branch of CBI) will be merged into Lokpal. Lokpal will have complete powers and authority to independently investigate and prosecute any officer, judge or politician.

9. The agency will also provide protection to whistleblowers who alert it of potential corruption cases.

Indian Television shows : Where are we heading ?

"After a long working day, I closed my laptop and turned on the TV to relax a bit. The channel was "Bindas-India's number 1 youth channel". I was shocked to see the logo of the channel itself. The thing which concerned me the most was that they were promoting their channel with a finger-up symbol to show the youth orientation and to show that they are the No-1 Channel. Is this all what today's youth is about - One finger up? There's so much more to us then a finger pointing upwards symbol.

As if the symbol was not enough, the show was even more ridiculous. They call it "Dadagiri : Revenge of Sexes". You will hear less beep sound on a busy traffic roads of Bangalore than there were on that show. They were swearing as if there life was hanging on it. Its a shame that its a Pan-India Channel. I do have the liberty of choosing any other channel, but I felt it was disgusting watching this. I do not claim to be a moral guru, but I really felt hurt with the concept. This mind-set is slowly being injected into minds of small-town youth as they are more prone to this type of exposure.The girls were not far behind the guys in this competition of swearing. I do not have a gender bias either, but it was unpleasantly surprising to see all those.

I had seen enough to disgust me and I had to push the Red Button on my remote control. I preferred to work which seemed better than the TV which is supposed to entertain us.

After some days, I found a link ( "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imVLcA66H8E&feature=related") which was being circulated like anything on the internet. The title was "Best of Raghu's Abuses". I had heard about MTV Roadies but what I saw in the video was really saddening. Where did this guy get the courage to say the things he said on the show?. I really don't know. Is this what we really want to show to the upcoming generation of India? Is this the sort of cultural upbringing for the new generation?

What happened to the Indian Television? Where are those shows which could imbibe teaching on Indian Values and Morales? What led to the demise of good shows on TV Channel? There are some questions going on in my mind whenever I press the Red Button on my remote. Where is material like "Ek Chidiya, Anek Chidiya" showing us the value of working together? What happened to "Ek Anek Aur Ekta" teaching us the virtue of unity? All I see on Tv these days is a slow dosage of poison filling out blood on "How to back-stab your friend", "How to abuse effectively" and things which I can't write with my trembling hands. Add to that the proud looking ALPHA-male feeling which the participant show they are having, after they are done swearing. We have a plethora of so called genuinely unreal Reality shows.

We used to watch "Mile sur mera tumhara, to sur bane hamara", even here we pass the same message, if your and my rhyme gel together it will make our rhyme. It will make OUR song. We use to see 'SURABHI' a very intellectual program which imparted knowledge about unexplored area/culture of India with very sophisticated and cultured hosts. "Malgudi Days", a very nice program sequence of from south India. "Gul Gulshan Gulfam" from the very northern part of India. Aren't they the program which shows the diverse culture of India and even then showing the unity of India, depicting the true meaning of India.

But now if we see, TV is showing the personal grudges, unhealthy politics, back stabbing your friends, unhealthy competition and worse part the Abuses... Shows like "exchange your mom" and "Big switch-change the family" shows how less respect young generation has for the elder generation. And above all, I am not very sure where is the censor board guys are sleeping over all these abusive champions. Do we really have a censor board that monitors the programs on the TV channels, I wonder?

Would we keep on looking at all what is happening? Shouldn't we take a step to stop this nonsense and let some good things coming out of TV for our current and future generation? I am not sure, what we can do for it but just thought of sharing it and know your thoughts. May be we all together can take this to some highly respected individuals (like Kiran Bedi etc...) in our country and take their guidance to get something substantial done."

इतना न मुझे तडपा की बर्दाश्त न कर पाऊँ मैं,
उसकी बेवफाई के फ़साने दोस्तों में गाऊँ मैं !
